Long Island Half gals who have previously done it

Toward the end of the course while on carman avenue where do you go into the park? Course map looks like you don't go to Hempstead turnpike. So where on earth do you run to to get into park? I know where the park ends and high school begins. Is there a gate there they open? I'm doing my last long run today and wanted to take that route but I can't figure out how I end up in the park. My other long runs I've started by museum row but I would like to cover the opposite end of the course. Thanks.

I am pretty sure before the high school there is a gate that you go in and run along the path to the finish line. Good Luck!

You start on museum row and go around that circle.

At the end, you get back into the park from Carmen Ave onto the golf course. Just be aware, depending where you finish, the road is narrow so you might have to end up weaving around people and going onto the grass. The last mile or so is in the park.

I drove by and noticed that the gate was closed. I couldn't do the long run on Thursday so on Sunday I just started from Charles Lindbergh as usual.

Right--its a small gate that you enter into the park. The last mile feels like a giant zig zag in the park but its pretty simple from the gate to the end.
