Furniture Protection Plans
We just bought a couch set for our basement from Ashley's and are still deciding if we want to add the coverage plan to them or not - it's by Guardian if that makes a difference. Anyone get it before and have any good/bad experiences? We're mainly worried about any stains down the line, but also thinking maybe we can use something like Resolve, etc. to use that and not waste the money. Or is it worth it?

Re: Furniture Protection Plans
I have it, and I haven't used it, but were told if we don't use it in 5 years we get a 500 credit we can use at Ashley. So we got it bc we bought over 7k in furniture. I think it's worth it bc u can get it back in credit if u don't use it.

Re: Furniture Protection Plans
I think it depends how you use your furniture. Do you have kids? Is this something you'll be using every day?

Re: Furniture Protection Plans
It would've been $100 for our furniture (Macys) and MIL and DH talked me out of it. Less than two months later, my 3yo DD took a pen to the couch. Thankfully it was behind the cushions because it didn't come out with stain remover. It would've been covered hassle free with the protection plan.
I say get it if you have kids or pets that'll be using it a lot.

Re: Furniture Protection Plans
I don't often get warranties/protection plans on things.
But if you are considering it, I'd really look at the fine print and see what's covered. Typically, these protection plans exclude "normal wear and tear," which is often defined very broadly. So you don't want to invest the extra money thinking that it is a safeguard against a possible issue (e.g., kids drawing on the couch), only to find out that is not covered by the plan.

Re: Furniture Protection Plans
I work for a company that is contracted out by extended warranty plans to do cleanings, and from my experience, they are VERY particular in what my techs can/can not clean. Most only cover accidental occurrences (meaning you must report the stain immediately after it happened, otherwise it voids the warranty). Also, they will not cover accumulations (multiple stains over the same piece). And if you attempt to remove the stain yourself using products not provided by the protection plan, are unsuccessful and call to schedule the cleaning, that voids the warranty.
As the PP stated, read carefully what is/what is not included in the plan before you purchase it. I've often dealt with very angry customers who were under the assumption something was covered, when in fact it is not.
