Homeowners insurance
Is it better to call direct or go through an agency? I can't believe the quotes I'm getting, and the two agencies I've talked to had completely contradicting information

i just called different companies a lot wouldn't take us cause of the dog. made a list on who would take us and went with the best quoute

I'm calling insurance companies directly. I called our broker that we have our renter's policy for and they sent me back about 75 questions that I had to answer...just to get a quote. Um, no thanks!

I called direct. Try the company you have your car insurance with. We got the best price by bundling our auto/home insurance together.

Homeowners insurance
Brokers have access to companies that dont deal directly with the public. No matter where you get quotes from make sure they are for the same amount of coverage for structure, additional structures and contents (as well as everything else but those are the most important)
