I don't wear make up so I actually get comments more of that they didn't realize I didn't wear make up, but on the days that I do, I would be PISSED if someone thought I wasn't.

I said I'd get annoyed but it would depend what make-up they're referring to. If they're saying they can't tell I'm wearing foundation then that's a very good thing because I don't want my foundation to be detectable obviously.
If they're referring to my eye make-up and/or lipstick then I'd be annoyed. I don't spend time on those things to have them look like I'm not wearing any. For example, I get asked all the time if my eyelashes are real. I take that as a compliment.

I think it depends on how they said it. If they looked at me like I had 3 heads when I said I had make up on, I'd be offended. But, if they said something like, 'oh, it looks so natural, like you're not wearing any', then I'd feel precious.

That means they were thinking, "Hey, she's really pretty." rather than, "She's wearing a lot of make-up."

Funny. Last week I couldn't find my makeup bag and had to go to work with bare bones makeup. I told my coworker who said "oh I didn't realize you had no makeup on" I said then I must look pretty awful with makeup as well cause that horrifies me lol.
I'd take it as compliment

See me, in my constant insecurities, , would take it as, geez I must look awful. Because for me, no make up means I look awful.
And if I am taking the time to put it on and think I look pretty damn decent walking out the door and someone is like- oh she doesn't wear makeup, well that would make me feel a bit like shitt.
But that's just me.

ITA - I think it def depends on how it's said. I commented once to a co-worker that I didn't know she wore makeup after a different co-worker told her she should start wearing at least some foundation but, she said she already does. I was shocked cause her skin is always red and blotchy. I never would have thought she wore anything on her face. She def needs better coverage but I would never tell her that.
