What would you do?
I have two puggles (both rescues). My sister had two dogs. She got pregnant and gave the dogs back to the no-kill shelter. I pleaded with her to let me keep at least one but she said no. One of the dogs got adopted the other didn't. I really want to go get the other dog. I know it's going to cause an issue with my sister but that's not what concerned about. Do you think a shelter would let me foster the dog while they find a home? Would that be worse?
Thanks.

Re: What would you do?
Why oh why would she NOT let you have them? That makes no sense to me. Why would she do that? Sister or not I would go back to get the dogs. Why couldn't you just keep even one of them? That's so insane (unless I am missing some valid reason for this). I would go get that dog or do whatever I could and oh well for my sister. I would never be able to respect a ridiculous decision like that so I would take my chances.

Thank you. I kind of needed to hear that. I contacted the shelter earlier today. I'm just waiting to hear back.
My sister said I am not home enough, my apartment is not big enough, it would hurt her, etc etc. it's hurting me see my niece still at the shelter. Thanks.

And your sister knows where the dog would be going? No she does not. Could be a similar senario that the dog gets adopted out to also. Give it a try, see what the shelter deems fit. You have a kind heart, that I know. I recall all your posts about adopting your dog, etc.

Go get the dog! Maybe her hormones are going nuts and she isn't thinking clearly. (I know I was a lunatic while I was preggo)

I would not give a rats ass what my sister thought. Who just returns their dogs to the shelter b/c they are pregnant? Awful.
I would go get the dog. Poor thing. At least he will be with someone he knows!

Re: What would you do?
I agree with everyone else, go get the dog! It makes zero sense to me that your sister would rather see the dog at a shelter and be adopted out to god knows who, then to let you give it a good home. I think it's wonderful that you want to give that poor baby the love and attention that she deserves.
