because I need to relate to other overly sentimental, overly emotional criers like myself right now Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

My boy--my #3--my BABY--had his last day of nursery school today and of course didn't I burst into tears twice...once in front of some moms and then again in front of his teachers. This is in addition to this morning talking (well, not exactly talking...more like choking out the words) to my DH about it this morning. This is also in addition to walking to the car after picking him up yesterday. He went running up ahead with his baseball cap and his backpack twice his size and I was playing this montage in my head where I was watching him run ahead now at age 3, then he turned to 8, then 13, then a man...I lost it! I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow at the little graduation...

Sometimes I think I'm exactly the WRONG type of person to have become a parent...I've always sort of mourned the passage of time anyway, but this whole parenthood deal has amplified that by about 100!

Does anyone want to commiserate?

I just got teary eyed reading your post. Tomorrow is DS last day of nursery and his "graduation" is Tuesday. I will cry lol. I just signed him up for summer camp and said to myself I cannot believe my baby is 3 and doing all these things already. Time needs to slow down!

Oye. It was harder for me, leading up to the last day, she still has a year to go, but when she's done no more babies for me.Chat Icon

My "baby" will graduate elementary school in two weeks and move to middle school. I will never see the inside of an elementary school again, and I have been crying for weeks.

DD has her preschool graduation this week. She is going off to kindergarten in the fall. I have been melancholy all week. This weather is not helping. I have noticed every last with a huge lump in my throat ready to cry.

Both hands up here :(

My baby graduates from Pre K next week and its going to take every ounce of my being to not be a mess. I know there will be tears ..I am just hoping to not be a complete mess. I had a similar flash to the future moment yesterday - my son was running to the mailbox and he turned around and smiled at me and he was SO cute and then she ran back to the car and I thought " this is THE best time of our lives...THE absolute best....I need to savor every single moment".

Good luck...I have found that if you let the tears just fall it draws less attention to continuous dabbing...it does result in a very runny nose though.Chat Icon Chat Icon
