Summatime plans!
Happy warm weather days!
What are you guys up to this summer? Any vacations, celebrations, birthdays, general fun stuff going on?
I just came back from a quick trip to FL...spent a long weekend with my mom, sister and niece! Saw a bunch of my extended family while I was there
I've spent nice weekend days sitting in my yard, reading a book while DH does some gardening. I can literally spend the whole day back there reading...and having wine.
Love just hanging in the yard, throwing some food on the grill, and soaking up all the warm air
Our wedding anniversary is Friday but we're still unsure about what we're doing to celebrate...DH mentioned going upstate Saturday, but we don't have a concrete idea. Anyone have a suggestion?
I'm toward the last couple of hurdles with this breast cancer fight! I will be getting my permanent implants in three weeks, then I'll have radiation through the month of August. But the hard part - chemo and the double mastectomy - is over!!! It's all uphill from here.
We're seeing Soundgarden and NIN at Jones Beach on August 1st. Really can't wait for that!!! Also seeing Lorde in September.
Have two weddings in August...both are for people who I met over the years while following PJ on tour. So freakin' cool!
And finally, we're in the beginning stages of planning a trip to Ireland, which will happen in late Sept/early Oct. After the year I had battling cancer, and the year DH had taking care of not just me, but everything in the house, dealing with the cats, etc...we're really looking forward to it!!

Re: Summatime plans!
Happy Summer! We went away in May, so we don't really have anything else planned yet.
I have been so busy, I really just want to stay home.
Best of luck with your surgery & radiation! My radiation (for endometrial cancer, so a little different) made me really tired and gave me carb cravings, but other than that it wasn't too difficult.

Re: Summatime plans!
I'm so glad to hear that you're in the final stages of your breast cancer battle - you rock!
This is a crazy busy summer for us, we don't have a weekend free!
Concerts: We saw Goo Goo Dolls with Daughtry on 6/14. Billy Joel at MSG on 6/21 - amazing! Going to see Michael Buble at MSG on 7/8.
This past Saturday was my younger brother's high school graduation...which makes me feel SO OLD! Lol
We're going to AC Thursday for a long weekend.
My cousin's bridal shower is 7/12 - I'm the MOH so that has been keeping me busy.
7/16 we're getting tattoos in memory of our twins that we lost on 7/16/13.
8/9 is my cousin's bachelorette party - we're going to AC..9/13 is the wedding.
There's lots of BBQ's with friends/family mixed in there too!

Re: Summatime plans!
Other than our annual St John vacation in 15 days (!!!!), we are just winging the rest. I really need this break, it's just been a rough year.
We might do a couple of days out east at the wineries, but during the week instead of weekend. Maybe some long weekends away, not sure where yet. Billy Joel at the Garden sounds like a good idea, I love his concerts.
That's a plus about being CF, just being able to pick up and go.

Re: Summatime plans!
I teach and this is the first summer that I'm actually taking time off. So far so good!
We went upstate for my family reunion in June. We're going up to my Lake George house in a few weeks with my parents, brother/SIL, sister/BIL and nephews.
A friend of mine just got engaged and her engagement party is in August.
We were supposed to see Zac Brown Band in June but something came up so now we're planning to go in August
Possibly going to Maine for a long weekend to visit a couple that we met on our honeymoon.
We're also thinking of a weekend in Newport, RI but we may postpone that until the fall.
Other than that, we only recently moved to our current town so we plan on spending the summer testing out the local bars, BBQing and going to the beach!
