Work baby shower today
I'm not attending, but just buying the gift and card was torture. If I had to read one more card about what a miracle it is, I was going to lose it in CVS.
I think the fact that the mom-to-be makes no secret of the fact that she got pregnant by her ex-husband so that they'd have something in common to bind them together makes it even worse. I know I shouldn't care what her situation is, but the fact that DH and I (and so many others) who are in actual, healthy relationships can't have a baby just rips my heart out.
Now, to figure out what I should do with myself at lunch time while everyone is at the shower . . .

I'm sorry. I would spend that time burying myself in devil dogs or HoHos but that's not the healthiest way to deal. Though it is the most delicious

Omg.. I totally can relate to you and what you're feeling. I just love these "other" situations... must be nice for them.
I hope that you got in some quality alone time at lunch today  Retail therapy always helps me. (Even if I'm paying for my treatments, I'm not giving up shopping! )

Work baby shower today
Just enjoy being outside today, find an nice shady place and enjoy your lunch.
I left our office baby shower, I told everyone who asked if I was going that had a prior appointment and left.

Work baby shower today
Thanks for letting me vent that. I just ran a couple of errands during lunch. Traffic was nuts today! Part of me feels a little guilty for not going, but I know it was for the best. I would not have been able to keep a "happy face" and, notwithstanding anything else, it's her moment and I wouldn't have wanted to take away from that by being a "Debbie Downer."
The bottle of Riesling in my fridge at home is calling to me, though. . .

The only thing worse then having to be happy for other people is having to be happy for other people when they have a screwed up situation like that. Like my friend who announced she was pregnant after a second date… that was super fun!
Or being happy for those people who "never want kids" then OOPS!
But hopefully it will be our time soon.
