hard breast mass - UPDATE good
has anyone had a hard mass (not soft and cystic), and it NOT be cancerous? i go tomorrow for a sono, but I need to know what I'm up against here.

UPDATE: the hard mass is nothing! i asked about 5 times..."are you sure it's NOTHING?" they ended up doing a mammo and sono.
with that being said, i have to have another point biopsied. the doc said if he could he'd say he's 100% sure, but he's not allowed to say 100% sure lol.. that it is a fibroadenoma.. which is benign.
biopsy after my honeymoon in 2 weeks.

Yes. I was 19/20, I had this marble like feeling thing in my boob, they did a sono, it WAS a cyst. It felt like a marble in my boob.

thanks ladies. i can't stop crying. only my husband knows because i don't want to upset my parents if it's nothing. at least i go tomorrow. i just hate not knowing.

Yes. I have scar tissue in my breast. It was very hard. When I had a sono the women asked me what I do for a living. I think she thought I was into kinky things. Good luck and stay strong.

yep.. they called it a cyst. Fun stuff! They couldn't see it well with the mammogram so they did the sono. I had it cut out. No biggie. They biopsied it and tested it and it was all clear.
Hang in there. Don't borrow trouble. Nothing you can do will change what it is. You will face whatever it is and come through it. Just be grateful we are able to live in a time and place where we can find, identify and treat. I found that thinking that other women weren't as lucky, gave me the strength I needed to be brave and push through. You can do it!

I am sort of in the same boat . My doctor found a lump in my neck and I went for an ultrasound today. I am praying it is nothing. I get a Breast sono every six months and had hard masses that were noting . Good luck!!

thank you all SOOOOOO much! just hearing from you ladies made me feel better.
you have such good points and great outlooks.
I said to my DH just a minute ago.. odds are it's a cyst. but if it's not, then we deal with it. that's that.
thanks again. I'll keep you updated! I'm under a fakey name because my family doesn't know anything until I know for sure.

I have about 15-20 breast cysts at any given time. I found out about 7 years ago and they are monitored by a breast surgeon every year.
The first time I found out, I was devastated as was my family, but then I found out they are nothing, just monitor them and go on about my life.
It sucks to hear this and find out you have 'something' but I am sure you will be just fine, odds are that you are fine. and God forbid it was something, you found it early and you are being proactive about it and not neglecting the situation.

while i was getting examined yesterday, the doctor said that i had a lot of soft cysts as well. i never even noticed them! im curious to what they find in the sonogram. im leaving in about an hour. i hope i find out right away.

Yay! So glad all good. My mom gets those fibroadenoma's all the time - she ends up with a biopsy once every 4 years or so, maybe a little less, has to get mamo's every 6 months for 2-3 years some times after... it's a PITA, but worth it to know for sure. The joys of lumpy breasts.
