is this estimate reasonable?
I was quoted $4500 to
-remove carpets and refinish wood floors in 2 bedrooms. (1 bedroom is 14 X14, 2nd bedroom is 14 X 12)
- install vinyl tiles (the ones that look like wood)in a laundry room that is 9 X 10.
Is that a good price?

idk but that seems high to me... i took up carpets myself, but, i had someone sand and refinish my wood floors in all 3 of my bedrooms, hallway, living and dining room and it cost me around 1200-1300.

And I was thinking that sounded pretty reasonable to me for the size of the rooms and the vinyl.

That's really inexpensive - that's basically what it cost for us to sand and stain our floors ourselves.

Save the money on the pulling up the carpet and do it yourself.
That is probably such a small part of the price though. It does sound high. I did one room for less than 300 a few years back.

That sounds really high. Like 2x what I'd expect to pay.

631-585-4724- Mike. I think he will be much more reasonable. I used him, and so did my mom. However, I don't know if he will do tile. I have someone else for that. ;)

I think that's high. I'm paying $1400 to remove carpet in one room, refinish wood in 3 rooms and hallway, and install hardwood in part of one room. Not sure how much the vinyl work is that you're having done, but I can't imagine it would be so much more.
