More Lost pets on 4th of JULY than any other day! KEEP YOUR PETS SAFE!!!
Just read on LI lost and found pets Facebook page that more pets are lost on the 4th of July than any other day, due to parties being held and pets getting out, pets running and getting scared from fireworks, as well as many injuries to pets.
Keep your pets safe if you are hosting a party. If your dog is scared of fireworks, keep them on leash or in a fenced yard (check to make sure fences are intact and gates are shut!), and make sure they have their tags on.

agree --- also keep the collars on our furbabies when they go out with you
Case in point ...2 beautiful beagles just walked thru my lawn the other day... im near wooded area... i tried to coax them in, but they ran off. They had the collars, so i hope owner found them.

I would definitely let Lost and Found Pets of Long Island know about this. They may very well know who the owners are.

Was just going to say this! Every year at this time. I get choked up thinking that some pets have no idea this is their final days with their family. This happens so much every year. Particularly on my mind since that poor dog jamie is still missing. If I post something on the main board will it get moved here or should I? I'm fairly new. Thanks!
