Where is the best place to buy washer/dryers and what brand do you recommend!?!
So I have never bought a washer/dryer before!! Our new house doesn't come with either - so I am beginning to research where and what to buy!
What and where do you recommend!? Thanks

We used Marlin in Seaford to replace ours after Sandy.
I went with GE front loaders. Middle of the road brand, they had the bigger loading size I wanted and all was in stock for immediate delivery.
Didn't find these things with the big box places PLUS I got several hundred back in rebates and felt like I was supporting a small business.
And the best was they were STILL cheaper than the big box places ;).

I think PC Richards has the best prices hands down. The salesmen will work with you too on price, but their prices fluctuate weekly because of sales. The real reason I always go with them is becaus they have a 10yr warranty for the same price usually as everywhere else's 5yr. I haven't found any big box places to offe anything more than 5yrs, and appliances are crap nowadays so you need it!

I too need a new washer machine - UGH....
I really wanted front loaders myself but only need to replace the washer right now and it will probably drive me nits that they don't match -
I heard Whirlpools are the best and that what I currently have - It lasted 10 years and from what I have been told that seems to be average nowadays....
Good luck in your search.....

With a PC Richard CC they will give you no interest for a period of time, I believe ours was one year. We bought our washer/dryer there (maytag bravos top loaders)

I bought my appliances at two guys in centereach. They matched (or beat) PC Richards price and then I got about $1000 back in rebates as well. (w/d, DW and stove). I did all my product shopping at PC Richards and then went to Two Guys with the models I wanted. I refuse to give any money to PC Richard. When I was shopping there, I had absolutely terrible experiences with every salesperson I dealt with. And it was not just because I was scoping out appliances. I had intentions to buy from them, but the salespeople were just terrible. And the store managers were no better.
I have Whirlpool Cabrio W/D and Frigidaire Gallery DW and stove

Bought at Lowes. After doing a lot of research, we went with an LG Washer. So far so good (have only had it 2 weeks)

I have only had top loaders -
What are the advantages if a side loader - how do you add clothes if you need to add or let things soak!?! I am guessing that is not possible - is that a down side to side loaders!?!

you can add clothes to them but I don't know about letting it soak. I have never done it.
I think the advantage for me was that I was able to fit my queen size comforter in there and be able to wash it.
I think top load is fine too as long as there no agitator. I feel like they get in the way of you being able to items such as comforters. I obviously have to wash comforters often
ETA: I bought mine at PC Richards and I the brand is Samsung.

This!
We bought the whirlpool cabrio washer and dryer from them. They are high efficiency but the washer is a top loader with no agitator

I love my LG washer and dryer. We bought them from Dunrite Appliances in center moriches since they beat all of the competitors prices. They are family owned and I highly recommend them.
