Girls Night BBQ?

I am having a girls night. I wanted to make dinner but something that we can eat outdoors and enjoy. Am I nuts for thinking of bbqing? What would I make? Chicken? Steaks?
Or should we just stay inside and do appetizers?

Re: Girls Night BBQ?

If you wanted to bbq you can do something like chicken bruschetta. Grill the chicken in a little marinade and make the tomato salad part that goes on top ahead of time. You could also season and grill zucchini if you cut in long pieces. A fairly light meal and no pots and pans to wash.

I love apps but BBQ could be fun. I'd do chicken and vegetable kabobs or chicken skewers of some kind with lots of side dishes. You can also grill pizza, those are always yummy.

How about grill some steak prior to them coming and make a huge salad..or a casear salad with the steak (or chicken or grilled shrimp)
or a salad bar with the meats on the sides for them to add

If you decide to do apps, you don't have to stay indoors though.
I'd just do apps and eat them outside.

Re: Girls Night BBQ?

What about a meat on a stick. Not kebobs, but skirt steak or marinated chicken. There's a great Italian market by me that has some delicious meats on a stick at the butcher counter. You can also do fish like shrimp.

Pasta salad or roasted red potatoes as a side with a salad. Maybe throw out some chips, veggies and hummus or the mango salsa is a big fav here too.
Make some sangria and sounds like a fun night. Even do smores! I'd love a girl's night like that. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Girls Night BBQ?

I think BBQ could be a lot of fun, and different! You could do marinated chicken, steak pinwheels and veggie kabobs on the grill and have mozzarella Caprese and a cold pasta salad on the side.

lobster. have them killed and cleaned out. when you get home, just rinse them under the sink and then throw them on ( shell side up) the grill. they are done once turned red.

make a salad, some corn and you dont have to spend much time on the grill.

Re: Girls Night BBQ?

i also like to make veggies on the grill

get a grill pan ( under 10$ at bbb or macys.. i think sur la able has it for $15)

slice eggplant, zucchini, endive, and raddichio - salt pepper oregano and a ton of olive oil. its SOOOOOOOOOO good

strawberry kebabs with apple chicken sausage is also another fav. every supermarket has chicken sausage with apple.. slice them up with strawberries and put them on skewers. sausage is already cooked so you dont have to worry. just heat it up for a few min. they look great, too!
