Crossfit
Anyone currently doing or has tried in the past? did you stick with it and see a change in your body. I'm thinking about it but feel intimidated by it all. Looking to tone and build some muscles. Any recommendations in the Queens area.

Re: Crossfit
I loved it and miss it so much. Huge transformation in my body in a few months.
Crossfit flushing was opened by coaches who left crossfit garden city. They were awesome, and I would recommend going there if it's convenient.

Re: Crossfit
I did it for several months.
Ultimately it wasn't the right workout for me. I like exercise that gives me a mental release - yoga, running, etc. I just don't love lifting!

Crossfit
LOVE IT . I go every single day. Crossfit Bayside is very nice in your area but if you are willing to travel just for a day and check one out, Pace Performance in Amityville is my home away from home and I love it there.

Re: Crossfit
I signed up for a free trial in the Flushing location. I'm a bit nervous but willing to try it out.

Re: Crossfit
My sisters have done crossfit for several years (it was long beach, now island park)..they LOVE it. They both had huge transformations and are so toned and strong. If I lived closer I'd do it with them!! however I do think the price is crazy..I really don't want to pay over $150/month to work out!

Crossfit
My old gym offered it and it was incredible! It's intense but you see results in a few weeks.

Re: Crossfit
my husband is a coach and i have to say it does wonders for you.. if you are properly trained!
if you decide to do it, make sure there is a class for you to learn the correct movement and skills. if not, it's not a good place.

Re: Crossfit
I have lots of friends who swear by crossfit. And it can definitely change and improve your body. But with that said, I tried it for 6 weeks and it wasn't for me. I just didn't find it fun at all. I prefer a class setting and mixing things up- Zumba, cross training, UXF, boot camp, etc... Crossfit felt repititious.

That's one thing I've never heard. Bad programming can ruin a box. That sounds like very bad programming to me. In 2.5 years, with the exception of benchmark workouts, we NEVER do the same workout!

It's possible that it's just the place I went. I also felt like they didn't properly train you on form. I'm all for pushing yourself, but I felt like they were setting you up for injury. Again, the may not be true for all Crossfit classes, but that was my experience.

Re: Crossfit
I go to CrossFit Breed in Glendale/Ridgewood. I was intimidated in the beginning too. It's hard to get past that, I'm not going to lie, but you will. Everyone is so nice and supportive.
