Sore ankle during/after running
I ran my first half marathon in May. I took a few months off and am now training for another half in October. When I do my longer runs, I've had a bit of pain/soreness with my left ankle mostly on the inside near the bone. It's manageable and generally goes away completely within a day or so, but I don't want it to get worse. I don't have any ankle issues with my shorter runs.
Any idea of what's causing this? What can I do to prevent this from happening? Any other advice?

Re: Sore ankle during/after running
It could be so many things. Have you considered seeing an orthopedic specialist?
What kind of surface are you running on? Have you tried trail running? Have you rolled that ankle at all in the past? I happen to have one ankle that is weaker than the other because I've sprained it so many times over the years. I tend to have pain and soreness on the inside of the ankle after long runs as well but I know its just from weakness. I do exercises to strengthen the ankle and keep my fingers crossed that it continues to improve. Other than that, I keep training and ice after workouts.
Good Luck.
