Interesting dinner out last night
DH and I went to George Martin Strip Steak last night which I was so excited to try. I was scrutinizing the menu beforehand bc DH is newly gluten free and I wanted to see what he could have. I noticed one entree mentioned Maytag blue cheese so for some reason I decided to google it. What do you know it's unpasteurized! So thankfully we went kind of early and were able to ask a bunch of questions. I figured they could just switch out that blue cheese with the regular gorgonzola no problem. Turns out that blue cheese is really all they have so everything with gorgonzola or blue cheese was out! That meant no filet tips which I wanted to order, no wedge salad, no gorgonzola crust on the regular filet. I asked about the ceasar salad and it's made with raw egg. I couldn't believe I had a harder time finding something to order than DH! I swore to the waitress once we figured out what to order we wouldn't be difficult the rest of the night! Ordering was tough but in the end we both had amazing meals. I can't wait to go back there not pregnant so I can have whatever I want!

I'm shocked they are allowed to serve unpasteurized! It's so heavily regulated in the US.

Oh wow, I looooove blue cheese and probably would've just went for it without a 2nd thought- good thing you checked! I've been wanting to try that restaurant- I've heard nothing but great things. Glad you enjoyed it, sans blue cheese and all!

Definitely wait until you have the baby if you're a blue cheese fan! It really makes me want to try it more!
Now I just feel like I'll have to be a little more careful about cheeses. I usually don't worry much bc of the whole idea that it's nearly impossible to find unpasteurized soft cheeses in the US. I hate to pass up a good cheese though!
