Party help
Hi, DD's bday is in the beginning of October and I wanted to start planning her bday party. She is turning 8. Previously she was in a special ed classroom but this year she is going to be in a "typical' classroom so I wanted to invite everyone so she can socialize with them and they can get to know her better. That being said, her best friends are still in special ed and i will be inviting them also. So in total, I'm expecting about 25ish kids, both boys and girls.
I have no idea on what to do with them. Does anyone have any party place suggestions or maybe I should just do it at home, but if it's at home, what do you do with the kids lol. Budget is not an issue so I'll take all and any suggestions!
Thanks in advance!

Re: Party help
DS went to a bday for a boy that age. First they went to the movies and then they went to an ice cream place where the kids made their own sundaes.
I didn't attend the movie part, but DH did and he said the only downfall with that, was at that age, a lot of parents just dropped their kids off so it was a lot on the host parents to watch the kids, carry soda and snacks, etc.

Party help
Thank you!
Halloween party is good idea. I never thought of just combining them! I love the movies and gymnastics too but DD is afraid of the movie theater lol and nixed gymnastics.
Thanks again!

Re: Party help
Hmmmm...honestly, how many 8 yr old boys are you inviting to this? I think 20 8 yr old boys in your house could = disaster. Lots of fun ideas - chocolateworks or something similar...a sports place (can tailor the activities to things boys and girls both like - soccer, obstacle course etc.), lazer tag (is your DD into that? I know only some kids are), fun craft type of place, bowling, mini golf, queens county farm type of place (good in the fall with a Halloween theme), pump it up (they have cool themes for older kids like glow in the dark, etc.), adventureland, etc....

I've been hosting home parties for about 12 years, and it's never been a disaster. You can do so much more with a home party than you can having it out. I'm picky about decorations, games, activities, etc., so home parties always work out great for us. The key is to have it organized. Games, food, etc., all spelled out on your own list so you can keep the party organized. The kids always have a blast.

Not saying they don't have fun. Just saying depending on how rowdy the boys are and how many parents just drop off - how many are already 8 and how many are just 7. Yeah, can get out of control (rowdy, rough, etc). for my tastes - seen it happen. With some boys - would be fine - not with all.
