made it to the 3rd round

So I have a 3rd round and final interview on tuesday for a director/chair position.

It is suppose to be down to two people. I am excited and nervous of course at the same time.

I feel like it is so close to the start of the school year, if this goes well I will feel horrible letting me school down last minute.

Has anyone had to do that before?

How does it work in the city? you are moved to another school or have many schools to direct? I know that after open market closes a principal has to let you go....is this the case? ii have seen people do it before and our admin was bitter...but the people left what do they know of the admin's feelings.

This actually would be a long island position, so I would be leaving the city completely.

I left a position at the last minute. I felt bad, but it was what was best for me and my future. It's business not personal.

I was offered my current position the third/fourth week of August as well. I resigned from a private school so there was no contractual obligation. There were no ill feelings, unfortunately, for city and private schools it happens all the time.

Of course, I am jumping ahead a bit. I would definitely feel guilty! Wish me luck! Tomorrow is the big day!

No, they actually called back 3. I was the first yesterday and the other candidate was waiting when I walked out. They said they had one interview today as well.

Once they decide, that person is going to meet with the Sup't one more time (yesterday's interview actually had all of the sup'ts) and then go up in front of the board next Wed. If anything less than a week until I know.

Thing that stinks...I have to go in to my old job today and at least start moving my classroom around or else I am waiting until the last minute which could take forever!

That stinks, but it wasn't meant to be. However at least you have practiced that type of interview, so should another position come up next time you'll be well prepared in what to expect.
