Ok, so this is week 4 for me, and....

I am down just about 10lbs. on WW. I have a question, though. I noticed that I slowing down with my weight loss, and I am also close to needing to lower my points, so since I'm close, would it be ok if I do the inbetween? Like, instead of 24, then do 23 pts.? So I'm not actually going down to the next level, just boosting it a bit?

Great job Rachel! I don't think dropping down to 23 would be a problem . . .

You have to be careful with dropping down so low. I did ww for over 6 months and lost 62 lbs before I had Emily.

Sometimes if you drop down too low your body goes into starvation mode and holds onto the cals instead of letting go to them.

That's why if anyone asks I always tell them to use those flex points. I've found that I lose more when I use them as compaired to not using them.

It is common after a month or two to get in a "rut" on weight watchers or weight loss in general.

I would recommend trying the Wendie plan. It is modified weight watchers. You use points but the plan specifically tells you how to use your flex points.

It gives you alternating days between high and low point days. Some days you use a lot of points, some days a lot.

It makes sure that your metabolism isn't getting too used to your cal-intake and that it has to keep readjusting and it's great for a few weeks to get you out of a slow down or a rut, and I know of people who do it all the time because it just keeps them losing more significantly then just doing regular ww.

If you have any questions about it please FM me. I do have a log of experience and I've had sucess on WW it just might not look it since I am so overweight to begin with, but losing 62 lbs on ww is a big deal IMO --- so I've been through a lot of the ups and downs on it. Plus since I'm very overweight I was on this board for people who have to lose 100lbs or more and a LOT of people used the Wendie plan to get out of ruts.

Congrats! You are doing great.

Regarding the points-I am not sure who on these boards said it but it has really stuck with me. You should try to eat as much as you can while still losing weight. Reason being that it won't feel as much like a diet and it will be easier for you to maintain the new eating habits you've established because you don't feel like you are starving, missing stuff, etc.

The person who originally posted this made it more compelling than I just did.

Good luck!
