Childrens Allergies
I swear Dr.'s make my head spin...lol
Took my 7 yr old to dr for coughing (phelmy) that wouldn't go away for a week, dr. #1 said he heard some crackling in her lungs, put her on omnicef, never checked her ears, which I realized in the card. Check back in a week, coughing still going on Dr. #2 says she is shocked Omnicef didn't work, puts her on nuebulizer, that helps alot but says her ears are full of puss, puts her on a new antibiotic. Cough is ok still here, but MUCH better, go for 2nd re-check, different dr. says her ears are not infected, not sure if they ever were....she thinks it is allergies, foggy liquid in there. So she said to use Claritin for a month.
I am pissed that DD has been on antibiotic for 15 days and may of never needed it ??
Anyone experience anything like this? I am thinking maybe she did have infection and antibiotic cleared in and Dr. #3 saw the after effects?
Frustraing and is clartin safe to use everyday for 30 days ??
thanks

Childrens Allergies
Yes, with my much much younger sister. Her doctor (who I don't like) has done this for YEARS with her, I've insisted she has allergies because she is EXACTLY the same as I was at that age and younger. Well, wouldn't you know the moment my step-mother actually listened and started her on a daily claritin her symptoms went away.... now I just have to get this almost 16 year old girl to stick with it.

Re: Childrens Allergies
Thank you for the response I will have her take it for the month and see if there is a difference and if the ears clear up :)

Re: Childrens Allergies
My son has some pretty severe allergies and gets chronic sinusitis. The allergies trigger the sinus issues and he needs antibiotics. Sometimes it gets so bad he has hearing loss from the buildup of fluid in his ear. Go to an allergist and find out.
