Has anyone had Donation of Injectable Medication

I am new to the inject-able meds this is my first cycle and thankfully after going back and forth with the insurance co and finding out I am not covered for the inject-able meds my dr's office donated what I had taken this cycle. I do how ever have to pay for the trigger shot which is fine. But wondering has anyone got donations of the meds from some where else. I am trying to remain positive that this cycle will work because to be honest don't know if I can swing the 2-3 k per cycle. :( Any advice would be great.

Re: Has anyone had Donation of Injectable Medication

I had all of my injectable meds donated to me by 3 lovely ladies on these boards. I wouldn't have been able to try IVF without them. Unfortunately, it didn't work. But I at least got to try.

I also wound up needing an extra GONAL-F pen and my RE donated it to me.

The generosity of women on this board is just amazing. Two lovely ladies donated almost 100% of the meds that I needed for my first IVF cycle that I am going through right now. Beyond thankful given that we are out of pocket for the procedure and meds. Chat Icon

Edited to add that my RE's office gave me the rest of the meds that I needed. So make sure you ask your nurse! Lot's of women donate the meds back to their RE's office.

I just got my results from this IUI and it was negative and I am devastated,. But with my insurance not covering my inject able I just don't think I can afford the cycle.

I'm sorry Chat Icon

Do you still have injectables leftover from this past cycle? If so, I recommend speaking to your doctor about the possibility of doing a hybrid cycle (clomid in conjunction with injectables) next time.

I am OOP as well, so my doctor agreed to let me take a low dose of clomid for 5 days, and a low dose of follistim for 5 days, starting the last day of clomid. It was the quickest and easiest cycle ever. I did end up pregnant, but unfortunately had a CP.

Hopefully your doctor will be able to give you another donation so you can cycle again. Good luck Chat Icon
