I have 3 planters that are built into our large stone stoop. I want to put some sort of plant there.

I like clean and simple. I want something that will last throughout the seasons, can take direct sunlight and does not require a lot of work on my part lol

I do not really want flowers, I want like a low to the ground bush or shrub or something.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You can feel free to talk to me like I'm 5 years old bc i have no idea about plants and flowers.

Your best bet is to look at what other homes have that you like, then figure the types of plants.
It sounds like you might want dwarf evergreens or something like that. It's important not to plant anything that has a large root structure because it's so close to your house, large roots can damage foundations over time.
try googling low planting beds in front of house. I did and a bunch of photos came up. We are zone 7, so be sure anything you like is zone 7 hardy or it will get killed in the winter.
