Am I crazy to think I should do a marathon?

I'm in the process of training for a 30k at the end of the month. I've already ran to 18miles. WOW that's a long 3 hours with my thoughts LOL!
I'm not sure I'll EVER want to do all this mileage again, so I'm almost to marathon distance.
There is a local one in Oct. Should I do it?

If so it's 5 weeks away.

Yes, absolutely! I would get in 20-22 miler this week or next and then taper. You are there and can totally do it, I would!

I would definitely do it! You really only have to train to 20 miles so you're almost there!

It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. The sense of accomplishment after you cross that finish line is indescribable!!!

I'm already planning my next one and I never thought I would run further than a half!

What's your overall weekly mileage??

I hesitate to say yes right away b/c a marathon does take a toll on the body, but if you have a good base (other than just the long run), it could definitely work!

My 30k is in 2 weeks. I was doing 3 runs m/tu/wed (last few weeks 5, 9, 5) then my LR fri.

I never thought I'd ever run a 1/2 & have already done 3 with 2 more this year. So to do a 30k is big...but now I feel so close.
