No more running- injury related how to move on?

I've posted about this before

I had back surgery in 2007 and wasn't supposed to run again after. I was feeling good and was running on and off since then. To say I LOVE running is and understatement.

Fast forward to now I reinjured my back. Not terribly bad but I had an MRI today and I'm pretty sure its re herniated.
I'm not in allot of pain but it was a wake up call for me and I will not allow myself to run again.

I'm so upset. It sounds so silly but Im angry!
I know I should be happy that I will still be able to exercise but it's hard for me to accept it !

I don't want to sound like a brat because I know there are so many things that people go through that are 1000x worse but I can't help myself.

Thanks for listening!!

No you don't sound like a brat it's okay to feel this way. Honestly I love love to run. It's my passion and If i could never do it again I would de devastated. I guess this is something that you are just going to have to accept and hopefully there will be something else you can fall in love with. The good thing is that there is so much more out there now. I am so sorry this has happened to you. I don't have much advice but in time I am sure you will find something else you really enjoy. It may not be as much as running but there is always something else remember that.

I agree 100%.

I'm sorry this happened to you. Running is a huge passion of mine so I completely understand the disappointment. Chat Icon

Thanks girls! I am feeling better already! It's going to be tough when races I typically do come up. Thinking down the line when my kids are older maybe I'll get certified as a spin instructor.
