Tubes not adjacent to ovary

Hello, I had a Femvue HSG done today. Nothing was blocked but the doctor said the bubbles were not coming out in the "normal" place and said my tubes may not be adjacent to my ovary due to the possibility of adhesions

He said only Laproscopic surgery could determine and fix this. I would be put under and they would go in through my belly button.

I do not want surgery, and will not do that, but has anyone been told this?

He also suggests I do Clomid/IUI to see if that helps get us pregnant.

Re: Tubes not adjacent to ovary

If it turns out that both of your tubes are being pulled out of place by adhesions, you're highly unlikely to get pregnant without either surgery to correct the problem or IVF. The egg needs some way to get from the ovary to the sperm and then to the uterus, so it can't do this without a functional tube or surgical intervention.

If at least one of the tubes is okay, then Clomid IUI is a logical place to start.

You could repeat the test again, maybe with a different radiologist, to see if you can confirm a result. My HSG, for example, missed a scarred/kinked tube that was found during laparoscopic surgery, so it's not a perfect test.

Did he give you any idea how likely it is that there's a problem with the tubes? Were both of them coming up in the wrong spot or just one? One tube makes it harder to get pregnant, but you can still do IUIs and have a shot.

I didn't do the HSG with the dye, I did the Femvue one. So they put saline solution in you then blow air so they can see air bubbles. The bubbles weren't coming out in the normal place. They couldn't figure out where they were coming out of at first, then they saw the area and that is when he said my tubes may not be adjacent to my ovaries. He said the only way to confirm that would be to have the laprascopy. I think we will try the clomid/IUI first, if it doesn't work move on to IVF, then use the laprascopy as the last resort since he thinks that could be a cause, he wasn't set on that.
I already have 1 child, so he said it could have happened during labor with her. I had a miscarriage in November of last year, but there was nothing to be seen when I had the sono for it, so he couldn't give me any thoughts on that.
