4 1/2 year olds and writing skills

Hi,
I was wondering if some of you would be willing to tell me about the writing abilities of your now or once 4.5 year old little one. At that age were they able to write the alphabet on their own? Identify each independently? Differentiate uppercase and lowercase when writing? Thanks!!

My DD learned all of those things in UPK. She's a June baby so between 4 and 5. She was able identify them prior to UPK but she learned how to write them their. The worked on differentiation in the Spring. Initially the just did all uppercase letters.

My DS is an October baby and he learned the above in Kindergarten. He was able to do the above a few weeks before 5, writing Alphabet independently and recognizing all the letters.

My older DS is October also and I think he was able to write his name and recognize some letters, definitely not all. He picked up the rest in kindergarten.
My younger DS is a march baby and is 4.5 right now. He can recognize his name and can trace it, but can't really do it independently. He also recognizes some letters, but far from all of them.

Between 4 and 5, not all at once, and not perfectly, but a decent grasp with some mistakes every now and then.
