How quickly should a parent expect you to return an email or phone call? If a parent asked for a meeting would you be available any day before school or only after?

I asked my DDS teacher to go in at 7:50 am to speak with her and she said 3pm which I cant so easily cause I work. So she said we can do it over the phone instead.

Mornings might be hard if the teacher commutes but I return calls as soon as I can and would do a phone conference on my prep usually

Re: NYC teachers

Depending on when I get the message, I usually call back by the next day.

I would not be available any day for a meeting before or after school. It would have to be planned in advance as there are some days when I would not be available at all due to tutoring, meetings and my own childcare availability.

Re: NYC teachers

I return emails quickly, def same day. I typically only schedule meetings during the day or by phone after school. Most days I am at work by 750, not always. My commute is challenging and I have 2 kids at home making it hard to get out the door. i could try to be there for an early meeting but id prefer not to. I cannot have meetings after school (for childcare reasons) except on tuesdays when we are now suppose to schedule parent meetings (before 4 pm). Other than that, by phone is what I would suggest.

That explains it. I had a feeling there was a reason the teacher chose today, Tuesday, at 3pm!
