Holy vet bill!
My brothers dog wasn't well last night(she wouldn't stand up and she was throwing up). It was after hours so they took her to the emergency vet in Riverhead. To keep her overnight and run tests- $1500! and the exam(which is $40-50 at their regualr vet, was $150 at this place)They don't have any results yet, but were told she can be picked up at noon.
Hope the little girl is ok

well she's home.... She was on antibiotics for some anal gland infection. They said she might have had a reaction to it, so they're stopping that and giving her a different antibiotic(some liquid that is given in very small doses and absorbed into the gums instead of swallowing it ) They were still waiting on 1 more test result I think.

Aww, poor baby. Thats an outrageous bill! Although I'm sure we all think our furry babies are worth it!

Some of these emergency vets are insane! That bill is crazy - but in the long run, if your baby is okay it ends up being worth it.
BTW, I'm not sure where your brother lives...but we have taken Misty to an E-vet in Bohemia(the gorilla glue experience) and Selden(her spay stitches were coming out)...both times the vets were amazing and very reasonable.

yes we went to the pet er in riverhead ... cost $2300 (thats not a typo!) for my mom's cat. she apparently had some kid of stroke and was paralyzed so they put her in an incubator and all kinds of tests and tubes ... she ended up dieing 24 hrs later.
maybe pet insurance is smar t...

yep, my kitty had an emergency surgery in the beginning of the year, I am still paying for it!! I hope the doggie feels better
