Tablets for 5 year olds?
To all the pre-k-5 teachers:
My son just turned 5 ... November baby and is in kindergarten. We are trying to get him more enaged in learning his numbers/ letters. Not only is he young for kindergarten but he might have an academic delay. He also has been diagnosed with verbal apraxia but not autistic. Do you think that spending money on a tablet for educational apps is worth it ? Do you think it would assist in getting up to speed?

DS is three, but using the Interactive Alphabet and Starfall apps helped him learn all of his letters before he was two, and he now knows upper and lower case and their letter sounds. Endless Alphabet is a great app too.
Starfall.com has a lot of free stuff on their website (all of their alphabet games are free), so you could always use that first through your computer.
