Divergent Trilogy rant (spoilers included)
ok so i realize i'm late to the party. but i did swear off YA books... and then i watched the movie, and theo james happened, and i had to read them.
and now i wish i didn't! 
HOw, how could she kill off tris! they never even got together! feeling total teen angst over that romance now! and to die for caleb????? after what he did??????? hell to the no! she was pre-disposed to three factions and you're telling me, abnegation won? no! i do not accept this ending!
i will not hope and pray for what i usually hate so much- that hollywood changes the ending when they make the book into a movie.
ugh. so angry!

I felt like this at first, too, but after thinking more about it.... I get it. Tris WAS selfless and she was bravest and strongest and smartest when she was being selfless. Her mother and father both sacrificed themselves for her and her brother. I actually think it would've been out of character for her to lead her brother to his death, even after all he did. But ohhh the tears when Four did the zipline!

i cried from the scene at the vault all the way through the end. 
i get she was bravest when she was selfless, but she could have written the ending differently. She didn't have to die. She could have found David in the vault, but managed to avoid getting shot and still dispersed the serum. she could have lunged at him and there could have been a struggle and the gun could have gone off and the scene went blank, and later we found out it was david who was shot (and not necessarily killed). She could have just knocked the guy out (i mean, he was in a wheelchair; with all her dauntless training she couldn't take him?) he brother could have came in to save her (he WAS raised abnegation, it WAS a part of him too)
there were plenty of other ways to end that book.
I just feel like with all the horrible real stuff our teens are exposed to, it wouldn't kill YA authors to give them a happy ending and some sort of hope every once in a while.

HATED the way this ended. It ruined the series for me. Honestly the whole last book was kind of eh

I felt the same way. so many people were saying it was better than the hunger games and I read it and was like this F-ing sucks! I too only read it to watched the movie bc i love Theo James.

i never got through the hunger games so can't say. the idea was just too brutal for me.
i'm really surprised how many people hate this ending.
i really loved how he played Four.
i like to watch the interviews and press tours to see if the actors really are as interesting in real life, and i could not get through one interview with the two of them!
watching jennifer lawrence interviews is hilarious.
the hunger games cast knows how to interview well.
the supernatural cast is my favorite. i re-watch them and still laugh!
but the two of them? painful to watch.
makes me not want to watch the next movie.

There is NO REASON for Tris to die. She makes it through that death fog and then there's randomly that man in that room and he shoots her. WHY!? Why go through all of that to have her be shot down?
I was SO…SOOOO mad when I finished the book.
I wasn't a fan of the second or third book really but after that I was just like no, no way. No more Divergent for me lol.
