Two inseminations done per cycle (IUI)?

Reading online and saw this:

Should one or two inseminations be done per cycle?
•Several studies have addressed this question
•Some studies show no improvement in success with 2 inseminations done on sequential days compared to 1 well-timed IUI
•Others show higher success if 2 inseminations are done on back to back days
•One explanation for the different findings is that if single inseminations are not ideally timed for ovulation, success rates could improve with a double insemination protocol. Then, at least one of the insems might be properly timed.
•Most fertility specialists believe that 1 well-timed IUI is sufficient

I never heard of this. Anyone have this experience or conversation with Dr?

Yes. I did 1 b2b and it was expensive and did not work. Both of my successful pregnancies was from 1 well-timed IUI at 36 hours after trigger.

I had bfp with one, and with two. I always just went with what the dr said. I also had bfn with one and two, so I'm not sure what made the difference.

We did back to back IUI's and and got pregnant.

The cycle I did b2b IUIs is the one I got pregnant, but honestly I think the 2nd IUI was what got me pregnant it was better timed to when I was ovulating also my DHs count was much higher the 2nd day.

I agree with Michelle, I just went with what my RE said to do that cycle.

Doctors may only do b2b iuis if the count post wash on day 1 is less than 5 million. Otherwise 1 well timed IUI is preferred. I've done both a single and b2b iui, and got pregnant on a single which was 36 hours after the trigger shot (it ended in a cp)
