How do I get my puppy to respond to commands without a reward?
Our puppy is about 7 months old, she knows sit and stay but will ONLY do it when rewarded, like if you are holding a treat or one of her favorite toys. Ive tried doing it without and NOTHING, its like she has no idea what Im talking about. But if there is a reward on the other end, she knows exactly what Im talking about and does exactly as she is told.

Give the command to stay, with treat in hand. When she does - just give praise, no treat. The next time - give the treat... then no treat..
Keep alternating to where you're praising more times than giving the treat - and she won't 'expect' it every time.
