Dumb ques about tax deductible child care for schoolaged kids
I have two sons in elem school and my accountant wants paperwork/info on anything I may have paid for childcare that was in addition to public school (ie before care or aftercare or camp).
I don't do the before care at my kids' school but we do occasionally pay for afterschool PTA activities like Mad Science or Chess. Do these activities count as child care?
Do lessons count as child care if you do drop offs? Where is the line between camp and lessons? We do an intensive swim program over the summer where I drop them off - can I count those as child care?
TIA.

Yes aftercare and camp are the same as daycare. Lessons do not count. Its supposed to be childcare for while you are working

Activities do not count as childcare, and I doubt the organization would give you their tax ID number to try to claim it.

You wouldn't be able to claim afterschool PTA activities or drop off lessons as childcare.
