Electrician Quote
I just received a quote from an electrician for $875 to add 4 high hats to a room. Has anyone had this work done recently that can give me an idea of what a fair price is? It seems really high to me..

Re: Electrician Quote
It's crazy how expensive it is. My contractor charged me 100.00 per highhat but I got prices of 200.00 a highhat
I know Some factors include: is there a light existing now? Is it running on an existing switch? The most expensive scenario is that there's no light and no switch in the room. Is there an existing light that has to be patched? Is there access above?
Hope that helps

Electrician Quote
Thanks so much for your reply! There are outlets in the room and an existing switch but no existing light(s) or anything that needs to be patched. For the rooms upstairs there is attic access but there is no access for the downstairs room. I was given the same quote ($875 each) for one downstairs room and two upstairs rooms. I would think it would be easier and therefore less expensive to do the upstairs rooms. We are going to ask the electrician and see what he says.
