Dress for a wedding
Anyone know where I can get a cheap but nice dress for a wedding I have this month?
I tend to like things with more structure - nothing too flowy.
Went to DM, they had a really nice selection but I can't bring myself to spend $150 on something I will literally wear once.

DM sales rack. Got a great dress for $30 there... but it is hit or miss.
Macy's has a maternity section (I recently went to the one in the Palisades mall). They are having a heck of a sale & had a lot of dresses that were very formal. I was eyeing them, but then my kids started acting up & I have no event (yet).

Macy's is Motherhood, same company as Destination Maternity.
I just saw nice wedding appropriate dresses at Destination Maternity. But I didn't look at the prices. The back section Motherhood is cheaper.
You can try JC Pennies or Kohls online. I've had some luck with them.

This! At TJ Maxx, for less than $25 for both a wedding and my shower.
I could NOT bring myself to spend more than $40-$50 on a dress I would never wear again. Both dresses I purchased I was able to wear again since they weren't maternity.

Check Zulily! But also check the estimated ship time based on the wedding event date to make sure it gets there in time.

I agree with the DM sales rack! I got a $180 dress for $30 that was black lace and semi-fitted.

Asos has some nice stuff but their sizes are hit or miss. They do offer free returns though so if you're not sure on a size, you're better off just ordering both and returning the one that doesn't fit as well.

Asos!!! I have 2 dresses from Asos - one of which I wore to a wedding. I would recommend buying a few and returning ones that don't work. I tried to get a shower dress from there and wasn't happy with the options I went for (I was being way too picky).

Thanks everyone!!! I just ordered three from Target. They had a decent enough selection and the prices were definitely right. Hoping one of them works :)

They are 40% off clearance now at DM. Check out the website. Pea in pod dresses for just over $20. I'd buy a few if I had an event to go to!

I agree with ASOS!! I got my shower dress there, a dress for an engagement party, and a dress for a wedding. Each one under $50.

Thanks! I have to look again.
When I checked out the clearance last week at Westbury, the only dresses that were a true bargain were maxi style. They were a little thin and casual for a winter wedding. I was looking for more of a cocktail dress. That said, if anyone has a spring or summer time affair, now is the time to stock up!
Everything I liked was at least $100 (even on clearance). Couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger for one night.
