I am not a huge fan of Sunrise Lab, not the Massapequa one, at least. I did my 1 hour test there and had gone there for numerous other tests. The waiting room was uncomfortable (no TV, uncomfortable chairs) and the phlebotomists there usually poke me numerous times leaving large black and blues. I failed my 1 hour and took my doctor's prescription for the 3 hour to a different lab (North Shore LIJ Lab on Hicksville Road in Bethpage by Singletons) and they were fantastic. They also told me that Sunrise did not do my 1 hour test correctly -- they never did a baseline blood draw BEFORE I drank the glucose drink -- they just drew my blood after 1 hour. If your insurance is accepted there, I highly recommend them. They open at 7AM, but the staff is usually in around 6:30ish. They had no problem getting my blood and had to draw it 4 times (baseline, 1hr, 2hr, 3hr). I ended up passing my 3 hour -- hope the same goes for you! Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback!
That is interesting though b/c I've had both my 1 hour tests (this pregnancy & my last pregnancy) done at my Drs office and they didnt take a before blood draw either...just after.

Yeah, I've heard conflicting things and know that many offices/labs do it different but the lab I went to (which is hospital affiliated) was adamant that for both the 1 and 3 hour, you draw a baseline measure before the glucose drink is consumed. They explained to me why its necessary and it make sense.
