Graves Disease
I found out a few weeks ago I have graves disease and the doctor put me on a beta blocker and thyroid medicine. She then told me tonight (after reviewing my blood work) I cannot run anymore because I need to give my heart a rest. Has anyone been told this before?
TIA

Re: Graves Disease
Yes. Though the meds are only a quick fix I had to eventually get radioactive iodine to destroy my thyroid and now am hypothyroid.
According to my Drs., hypo is much easier to treat. With hyper , you need to be careful about your heart and with bone loss.
I would discuss with your dr. What their log term goals are with you. Being on the meds for hyper is not the best option.
Best of luck!

Graves Disease
My chiropractors wife put her graves into remission. I am not sure how since I have the opposite, hashimotos. I would go for a second opinion with a hollistic doctor. They charge about $260-$500 for your first consultation and about $125 after. I haven't found any that take insurance. I am working now towards putting my hashimotos in remission via diet and supplements. But I don't know enough about graves to see if that's possible too. Definitely join some Facebook groups, comments from real people are so helpful. I feel so much better on armour than I did w Synthroid.
