See sac but neg hpt

Has anyone ever had a positive ultrasound but negative urine? I just had an ultrasound today showing a sac and a yolk sac. my reasoning behind getting a US was not pregnancy related. I took a FRER and got a BFN. The nurse said it may be super early. I have been testing throughout this whole cycle and got all BFNs. My cycle is irregular and im still nursing and only had 1 period post partum about 44 days ago. I have no idea when I ovulated but had ewcm twice around cd18 and then again around cd33.

Im not sure if this is relevant, but I was told at my first ultrasound that they saw two sacs but only one embryo and they wanted to wait to see how it fleshed out. it ended up that no embryo implanted to the second sac and it was just one, but I guess they were waiting to see if something was going to form. Not sure it helps but it could still be early for you? Good luck!

If there's a sac that can be seen on US then typically hcg levels are over 1,500. Frer detects 15 or 25 and up.
Did you have a beta done?

This, not to come off mean, but you either didn't take the test correctly OR you had a defective test.

I thought the same thing. I had the beta done yesterday. That's why this is just baffling. I had a MC before and it stopped developing at 5 weeks and I still had a positive hpt.

No offense taken. I took three different test. FRER, CBE dig, and a first response rapid result.(bought that by mistake)

I've had three prior pregnancies and have always had positive hpt.

The OBs office also did a urine test last Thursday which was negative.

I can't even think of a feasible explanation for this...

Something similar happened to me 7 or 8 months ago. I was not ttc and I didn't suspect I was pregnant, but was at the obgyn for a sonogram for some other issue. The doctor called me into the office, shows me the image--even she swore it was a gestational sac! I was just laughing because I knew it was nearly impossible. I took a urine test--negative, then a blood test--negative. In the end, I think it was a pocket of fluid, but it was sure interesting there for a while Chat Icon

Good luck with whatever way you want this to progress...

My fibroids look very different from a gestational sac! I'd be concerned about using a dr who can't tell the difference, right? Chat Icon

Beta was negative (<1)
The doctor re-checked the sono and said its a cyst. Its funny because they were adamant that there was a yolk sac yesterday. Oh well. I'm relieved that I'm not miscarrying. Thanks for the feedback.
