If you had a farm table made please come in!
I'm finally looking to replace my hand-ma-down dining room set. I really want a nice heavy/sturdy farm or harvest type table with ladder back chairs and a nice hutch to match. I've searched everywhere and the one time I found what I wanted at Bassett its crazy expensive...I'm talking like $6-$7,000 for everything.
DH and I started thinking about having the table and hutch made. I think I remember seeing an old post where a few posters said they had theirs made by the Amish?? Can anyone recommend the company they used to make theirs? And give me an idea of how much it cost when all was said and done?

I don't know the name off the top of my head, but when I get home I'll find the receipt and let you know.
I had a maple table made with 3 chairs and a bench. I also had them make an island to match, but no hutch. It took 8 weeks I want to say to make it and I'm in love with it. Cost about 4k for everything and it's so well made vs the garbage table I paid about the same amount for. I've had it since October and it still looks brand new with my 3 hooligans going nuts on it lol

I would so appreciate if you could pass along the name once you find the receipt! That sounds exactly like what I'm looking for - a beautiful quality piece that will hold up over time.

110 Home Furnishings had a nice farm table w hutch last summer. Worth checking it out. It was definitely a lot less than $6k. I want to say about $2k?

I have a table and chairs from World Market. Solid wood and IMO amazing for the price. I do have a hutch as my dinging room is a mis match of pieces. But you might be able to find something to go with but not be matchy.

Yes! World market has amazing farm house looking tables that get excellent reviews.

I went to 2 places on Rt 110 that for the most part had the same things . One was All wood furniture, they had more sets on display ,but I think the one that I got it from was Dinettes and stools because they custom ordered me the dark wood color that I wanted.
This is basically my table but mine is in dark wood. It opens to 102" has 2 leaves that fold into the table. my chairs are paded I ordered 2 extra chairs so I have a total of 8 chairs and it cost me $1800 delivered! There are hutches that match . furniture company
Amish Also this is a link for an Amish company that I believe will make custom pieces. I have gone to the actual store before in PA. Image Attachment(s):

It's peaceful valley Amish furniture. There is a bunch of other stores who do wood working, but we found this was one of the few authentic places that actually do it all by hand and it really shows!
ETA- Also my table is 8 feet long and the bench was made extra long to fit, so the regular 6 foot tables are cheaper!

That's the website of where I'm talking about! I ordered from the one in intercourse, but the one in Strasbourg is so much bigger and has more to see, if you happen to be out this way! I found it on the way home from Thomas lol

They have beautiful furniture that is really well made . I have never been to the strasbourg one just the intercorse one. I will probably be going there this weekend actually.
