Anyone out there who...
I saw Dr. Tortoriello last week at SIRM in NYC. I felt comfortable with him and it looks like I am going to start intralipids and IVF with him. Background: I have been through treatments over the last 3 yrs with 3 other RE's on LI...none of which looked at the bigger picture (changed protocol) when my procedures failed. They just wanted me to keep cycling. I went to Dr. T, and loved how he had different approaches. I spoke with his office, and asked if I had to go in for blood and sono to their office or if I can use an office closer to home. I am on eastern LI. Has anyone ever done this before? Meaning, have you seen a doctor for your primary fertility care, but went to another office for monitoring/sono's? If so, what office did you use and how do you approach that? I can't exactly call and say, "Hi. I don't want to use your doctors for treatment, but I would like to get blood work and sono done there so you can send to my doctor in the city." lol. Or can I?

Yes you can. I havent' done it but would if I was with SIRM.
I believe LIIVF was mentioned as one of the doctors that will monitor.
Actually I would think most would? Call around and ask; start with the most convenient to you and work your way down.

I would just make sure they do the same exact tests. My current RE ran WAY more blood and testing than my last RE. Based on prior experiences I would just go in to the office you are going to use.

Thanks YOLO. They send me with a script...so it shouldn't be a problem.

This helps! Ty so much. LIIVF is right down the road from me. I had my first IVF cycle with them, but needed immunological support and they don't have that.

Not the same situation but, I am having IVF abroad and having all my monitoring before and after at RSOFNY. I felt odd asking them but they had no problem with it.

Yes, we used a gestational surrogate at one point and due to her location (Connecticut) she got monitored at a fertility center closer to her home, but Dr.Braverman called all the shots. (Literally)
