D&C & Missed M/C

Hi ladies I just found out I am going through a missed M/C. I am 11w 5 days and the baby stopped growing a week and a half ago.

I go for my D&C Friday. I have read up on it and have had others tell me of their experiences so I feel OK with it. I am obviously mourning my loss, but want to try again ASAP.

When did you start trying again after your D&C? How many weeks were you when you had it done, and does that make a difference when starting to try again?

I had a D&C and missed M/C about the same as you. I went right before I was 12 weeks (for my 12 week sono) and the baby has stopped growing about 10 weeks. I had the D&C 2 days later. Physically it was fine. Procedure and recovery were fine. Emotionally obviously a different story.

FYI, don't be surprised when you go Friday if they call it a missed abortion (I think that was the term). It's a technical term but omg when the nurse said that boy did I lose it in the office.

Your doctor will tell you when. Mine wanted me to wait 3 months which I did. It took a little bit to get my period back on track too (I have always had exactly 28 day cycles). I think it took 6 weeks to get my period and I had some spotting for awhile. And then by the next month i was back on track.

So sorry for your loss.

and on the topic of "missed abortion" i had a substitute teacher in HS biology once tell us that she had 5 abortions..b/c she had 5 miscarriages and her "body self aborted"

OMG i was terrified of what that meant at 16.

I remember telling my parents and my father wanted to march up to school and beat the shit out of that teacher.

I had a missed m/c (found out at 11 weeks.) Didn't have a D&C, but we were told to wait 3 months before trying again.

I am so sorry to hear about your MMC.

I was about 10w when I had a D&C. My DH and I waited 1 cycle and then tried again on cycle #2.

It took about 5 weeks for my cycle to return after D&C

I did not have a missed m/c but I did have a miscarriage around 8 weeks. Physically, I probably could have started trying fairly soon after but emotionally I was not ready for several months.
I think you have to wait and see how you feel both physically and emotionally. There's no right or wrong answer as long as you get the all clear from your dr.

I just read your post and I am very very sorry for your loss. I just found out in Thursday that both my babies no longer had heartbeats. I was 8 weeks. My D&C is scheduled for Tuesday and they are going to send the tissue out for genetic testing. Did you have that done as well? How are you feeling now?
