Is this still a big no-no? I'm fat so black is my best color.
And the wedding is daytime on July 3rd.

I never thought it was a no-no. At least not here, so much.
Being that it's daytime on July 3rd, I'd TRY to go with another color- even navy! But honestly, black is fine.

I think that was a very OLD SCHOOL rule. Back in the day, black was only for funerals. But that has long since past. Every wedding I've been to is a sea of women in black dresses.

I just wore black to a wedding in Las Vegas (and it was HOT out) - thought maybe I should do something bright, but found a black dress that I loved. Almost everyone there was wearing black (and it turns out the bride, as crazy as this may seem, was hoping everyone would wear black so that in pics, she and her DH - who wore a cream jacket - would stand out in pics)

I only heard once from a bride who was just, that you wear black to a funeral, not a wedding. I completely disagree. Black is classic. I think it's perfect for a wedding
