Gender revealing party ideas

I just saw someone who used water guns. Her husband and herself wore white and they had a water gun fight with their toddler and the water or whatever was in it was tinted pink.....really cute idea!

With my last pregnancy (one that I had lost early on) I had planned to do the gender reveal at DD's birthday, making it into her special birthday cake to cut. This time around I'll be finding out in July so we want to do something outside. Right now we're thinking about popping a big black balloon (or maybe the guests will pop multiple ones) and it will have either pink or blue confetti coming out. I still have time though to think about it before big reveal I think all of these ideas are awesome.
