New here....TTC at 43(and 3/4)
I will be 44 next Thursday.....started ovulation tests....hoping I still ovulate. Went last year for fertility workup, had eggs and good ones but low ovarian reserve coralating with my age. I know chances are slim. we were married three weeks ago and tried last month ,no testing or anything and didn't work. Really don't want to go through fertility procedures, went on my new husbands insurance as of today so will see what they cover, mine covers zilch but really praying it happens on our own but cant afford to wait long.

Good luck! I am in a similar position, I will be 43 in 6 weeks. We were married this past September and trying for our first. We have been trying since October though. I am starting to look into a fertility doctor. Thankfully my insurance covers it.

I have gotten a lot of recommendations, but haven't picked one yet. I need to see who takes my insurance and how convenient they are to me. It's kind of a lot to think about when it comes to picking one! And of course my husband doesn't want to throw in the towel and go that route yet...I don't want to waste more time especially considering my age.
Which dr in Mineola did you go to? Why are you thinking of not going back?

good luck..
added: if the Dr you saw last year in Mineola was at RSofNY I would stay away from that office, for many reasons all posted on IF. For your age group you need someone who deals with older patients

Just want to say GL. I'm married 5 years in October, DS was born in 2011 when I was 38. I am now 42 (43 in Dec) and we are actively trying again for #2.

If you had low ovarian reserves last year you should probably find a specialist and see them ASAP. I was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure and in discussing my options with my RE she explained that in my case a few months could make a big difference between conceiving on my own and not conceiving with out intervention. She recommended I use the clear blue easy advanced ovulation predictor test- two days after discussing my options for ovarian stimulation to freeze my eggs I found out I was pregnant- I now have a very happy and healthy 14 month old. Do not wait.
