Anyone have their strep b test done at 34 weeks?
I went to the doc yesterday at 34 weeks because i wasn't feeling well..felt like i might have had an infection..so doc checked me out said everything looked good and said since he was checking me out anyway he would do the strep b test.
Everything i've read says it should be done between 35-37 weeks. When i asked him if it was too early he said he normally does it at 35 weeks, but 34 is close enough.
He also checked and said i wasn't dialated yet but baby was head down.
Anyone else's doctor do strep b at 34 weeks? was just a little nervous it was done too early.

If you go past/very near 40 weeks I'd have them check again. The...ahem.."flora down there" can change even if it's just been 6 weeks so if you go into labor, for example, at 38 weeks then you're good. If you near 40+ weeks you should have it done again I think.
My doc office (and of course every office is different) prefers not to do it until 35 weeks, 5 days, and most often not until the 36th week appointment.

Anyone have their strep b test done at 34 weeks?
i think i had it at 37w. I dont remember for sure... i would let them know at your next appointment that you think it was done too early.

ughh thats what i thought.
What should i do though? He said i will go back every week now until I delivery.
I feel awkward now, since I already asked him if it was too early and he said it was fine. Do i ask him at my next visit (which would put me at 35 weeks 5 days) if he can repeat the test again at 36 weeks just to be sure? I dunno! ugh

No I dont' think you need to mention at next visit. It's good for a couple weeks. I'd recommend you say something at around 39 weeks.

Anyone have their strep b test done at 34 weeks?
I actually had mine at 32 weeks.. Long story short, I was admitted to the hospital with severe cramping and they did a bunch of tests to see what was up, including Strep B. I happened to test positive for it. The doctor said even though it will probably go away that I will still get the IV when I deliver just in case.

I was told by my midwife the test results are valid for 5 weeks.
