Tell me about your car seat/stroller combos
Having so much trouble with this. I wanted to try and register for as few items as possible to reduce the clutter (if possible) and things that will grow with the baby - so ideally I liked the UPPAbaby Vista stroller since it can add multiple seats, if needed, down the road, and the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio convertible car seat since it's used from infant through toddler. But after talking to some friends with children, it seems like an infant car seat that fits onto a stroller (with or without an adapter) might be the easier solution for travel during the first few months. But then that means an infant car seat plus registering for a convertible one for later on, right? How long do you use an infant car seat for? It just seems like a lot of stuff, I need advice or just stories of what worked for you guys. I feel so CLUELESS! TIA

Tell me about your car seat/stroller combos
I got the Britax B-Agile travel system... LOVE IT. DS is 7+ months old, and still in the B-SAfe car seat, our goddaughter is 14 months old and still in the b-safe car seat. They move her around in the car seat, like leave her in it and bring her around like that... our DS you can't do that with, he's too heavy, but we use the stroller all the time and the car seat is great.
When DS was really little it was really convenient to have the system, so that we can just click him in and out of the car and into the stroller whenever we went somewhere.

I didn't care for any of the travel systems when registering for DD1 so I picked out an infant seat (graco snugride 30 - click connect) and the city mini GT stroller. However at the time, the car seat was so new that they didn't have a compatible adapter for the stroller so we ended up buying a snap n go which we used til we switched to a convertible seat. We switched at around 9.5 months bc the carrier was getting a bit too heavy to lug around and since both DH and I alternate pick up and drop off at daycare, we couldn't just leave it in the car.
This time, were using the same car seat and going to get a compatible double stroller that will allow us to click the car seat in.

I would not want just one car seat. Having an infant seat that can easily snap in and out is key when baby is sleeping snd you're out and about

I got the infant car seat and the snap and go. I did not register for a Stroller because I didn't need one until my DD was out of the infant carrier. The snap and go is so light and easy to transport and use. I didn't want something bulky and heavy and taking up a lot of space in my car.
ETA: My DD was in the infant carrier until she was almost 11 months old.

Re: Tell me about your car seat/stroller combos
We did the snap and go and then a separate stroller. DS #1 was in the infant seat until 13 months, ds #2 until 16 months, ds #3 is in the infant seat at 21 months. I just don't snap it in and out anymore unless he is napping.

If you are going with an infant carrier, I would not register for a convertible seat unless you plan on using it right away. Manufacturers are coming out with new seats all the time and you'd be wasting almost a year of its' use as they do expire.

I have an UppaBaby Cruz and used it with a Chicco infant seat. For walks, I was able to just use the stroller seat reclined from day. But when we went out we were able to transfer my DS using the infant seat. I would wait until your DC outgrows the infant seat before getting the convertible.

I had a graco snug ride with DS and a Britax stroller with the car seat adapter. I had a snap n go for about 2 weeks, then I got rid of it because I hated it.
If/when we have another, I probably would not even use the infant car seat. For me, it was more of a hinderance than a help. I definitely could have lived without it and wouldn't go out of my way for it now. You can survive with just the convertible seat.

Re: Tell me about your car seat/stroller combos
I registered for a UppaBaby Vista with the Chicco KeyFit30 Infant seat. The Chicco was listed as one of a few that would fit with the UppaBaby.

Oh I never thought of that! If it's unopened, would we be able to return it? (The convertible car seat that is.)

As long as they still carry that same seat, I don't see why not.

Did not get a travel system just purchased a Chicco infant car seat and Double City Select. They are still boxed, but I plan to have DH set them up in a week or so.

I have the Britax Affinity and B Safe 35 and an Uppababy Vista. My car seat clicks right into the Affinity. It's a little bigger than a snap and go, but rides so much smoother. I love the Vista too but, I think the Affinity strolls better because it has air tires.

Re: Tell me about your car seat/stroller combos
We used the infant carseat for 9-12 months. They usually outgrow the height before the weight. Then we went to the Convertible.
We did the infant carseat and a snap-n-go system and also a BOB stroller.
