Dannon light and fit Greek yogurt for breakfast. It has more protein than carbs.

Lunch I'll put chicken salad or tuna salad on a whole wheat English muffin. Or I'll order a chopped salad with chicken.

Dinner is usually some sort of meat with a vegetable.

I don't eat eggs but that's always an option.

I have to read thu what the nutritionist gave me but I have to have a balance of carbs, protein and fat?

For example, I can't just eat an apple or carrots. I have to have a apple with cheese and some crackers or carrots with hummus.
She told me to put an oz of grated cheese on popcorn.

I need more ideas!!

Yes, you definitely need to balance carbs with proteins and fats. The nutritionist should have given you specifics to follow. Some of my meals were:

Breakfast-
Steel cut oatmeal with peanut butter
Whole wheat english muffin with peanut butter
scrambled egg with whole wheat english muffin

Lunch/ Dinner
Sandwich with cold cuts (heated up), whole wheat pretzels and salad
grilled chicken, brown rice, veggies cheese
Any kind of lean protein with a whole grain carb and veggies

Don't be afraid to try different things. You never know how different foods with the same number of carbs will effect your sugar differently. I did great with brown rice but could not have pasta- even whole wheat would spike my numbers. I did ok with whole grain breads and many who have GD struggle with eating bread. You just never know. Good luck!

I believe bfast I was not allowed to have fruit and carbs at bfast spike my sugar.

Bfast I usually had:

Zone bar
Greek yogurt
Egg white quiche cup

Lunch:
Lean cuisine
Cant remember lol

Dinner
Veggie
Protein
Brown rice

Snacks
Almonds
Cheese sticks

I was told all my snacks had to be zero or very little carbs.

So much is trial and error to figure out what works for your body. Generally, my GD was easy to control but it took some time to figure out that mornings were hardest for me and I could have very little sugar. It ended up that the tiny bit of milk I put in my coffee was throwing off my numbers despite my nutritionist and drs all said that would have no effect. Generally, "white" stuff wasn't good for me. Snacking every 2 hours was also helpful.

It was awhile ago for me but I remember having:
Breakfast:
egg, bacon, half a slice of cheese on 1/2 WW english muffin

Lunch:
I think I had sandwiches on weight watcher whole wheat bread.

Dinner: Various but limited carbs

Snacks:
PB on crackers
Polly o string cheese
nuts
fruit (in limited quantity and depended on the type--pears were good but clementines were not)
veggies

I guess there's not many changes.

I was told no fruit first or last meals (stinks cause that's when I would have it the most and I miss my morning shakes).

She said no white flour (which I don't normally have anyways), no pretzels (I'll have to ask about whole wheat next visit).

I've been having sandwiches or salad w/ protein for lunch

Like a PP said, trial and error. What works for you may not work for me and vice versa. I can have 1 and sometimes even 2 slices of pizza and I'll be fine.

The only number that I ever have a problem with is fasting and its not even that much higher over the range.

I know it's different for every one and trial and error. I've learned that banana's spike too much but techinically a serving of banana is half - I'd rather have none.

I just need more ideas. I've been having eggs, cheese, English muffin daily during the week and oatmeal & pb on weekends. I need more variety.

My fasting has been between 90-107 on most day.

I eat pretty much the same stuff repeatedly. It's annoying.

Just curious what your dr says about your fasting numbers though. When I had it with Dd1, I had to keep it below 95. Now I'm told I need to keep it below 90 or go on metformin.

I'll see the high risk specialist later this week and I'll see what they have to say. I have not seen my OB since I failed the 3 hour and the nutritionist didn't specify at what point I would be put on meds but so far it does not look good for me.

The paperwork the nutritionist gave me said my numbers should be:
60-90 fasting
80-120 2 hours after meal
