Fibroadenoma?

Last year I found a lump in my left breast. Went for mammo, sono & core biopsy. Turned out to be a fibroadenoma. Went today for my yearly mammo and sono and they found a tumor in my right breast. Dr(Different dr from last year)came in and said it looks like a fibroadenoma. I said are you 100% sure and he said no I can't be 100% sure without a biopsy but a biopsy isn't necessary. Come back in 6 months for another sono. No big deal. Do you think I should either insist on a biopsy or get a 2nd opinion? Or do you think I should just sit tight for 6 months?

I have one also. I never had a biopsy it was followed for 2 years every 6 months via sono and now yearly. My sister did have a biopsy and she just has to go yearly for the sono. If it makes you more comfortable then I would say go for the biopsy!

I would not let it go. I would follow up or get a second opinion. I had one that stayed the same for about 8 years then suddenly changed sizes and had microcalcifications. A second biopsy said it was ok but it was still recommended that I have it removed. While it might be ok. I would not take a chance. But I am a bit more cautious.

Fibroadenoma?

I had a fibroadenoma five years ago. I was about to ask for a biopsy and the radiologist suggested it. I wanted a definitive lab test confirming everything was ok, not just someone looking at a sonogram. I opted for surgical removal since mine was a large tumor 2.5cm and grew quickly.
