Flooring
So we are buying a condo and want to replace the carpets and change the floor on the kitchen. DH and I are both new at this.
The agent said there is hardwood under the carpet. So we might check it out to see if its good.
Should I hire someone to take care of this? Can you recommend anyone?
and if you've used them and are willing to share the prices please do so.
TIA

Re: Flooring
You can take the carpet up yourself (that should save you some money). I used a guy named Carmine, 516-521-2380 (my Dad knows him so I don't recall his companies name) His prices were the best I found and he did a terrific job.

Re: Flooring
Chances are the hardwood would need some work if there's carpeting over it. Unless you plan on fixing it, I'd leave it as is and let the new owners deal with what they want.

Re: Flooring
We used Gold Star floors to do the same thing in out new house and they were great! It was pretty cheap to have them pull up the carpets, so they did it all for us.
Eta: price is going to depend on square footage and what you want done.
