D & C for heavy menstrual periods/polyps

Has anyone had this done? I apparently have large polyps that have been causing my extremely heavy and long periods. I am hoping this helps me get back to normal! Anyway, if you've had this procedure, how did you feel afterwards? Will I need to take it easy the rest of the day? Cramping? Just wondering what others have experienced. Thanks!

I do not have experience with this, but I have pt who have D/C's all the time, for fetal demise/ blighted ovum's and when I see them for the follow up's they say they felt fine after. YES that day you will need to take it easy the day of the procedure as you will be sedated.

Again for my pt we tell then they should be fine to go back to work the next day. For my pt's we tell them Cramping could feel like heavy period cramps and the same for bleeding but not everyone has either or both. Not sure if this info will help, but feel good

D & C for heavy menstrual periods/polyps

I had polyps removed back in 2008-09 ish. I took it easy the rest of the day but more because of the anesthesia than the actual procedure. I went shopping with my mom the next day and didn;t have any issues. I didn;t have much bleeding or cramping.

Mine was done late in the day & I felt fine after-the anesthesia didn't bother me- I was pretty hungry--we won't home & my husband made me pancakes for dinner.
I did take the next day off from work b/c I wasn't sure how I'd feel, and I was just tired-more so than when I woke up from the anesthesia.

If it had been done earlier in the day, I might have been ok to go to work the next day.
